Justice According to Jack Reacher
There is the law, and then there is Jack Reacher’s idea of justice.
Reacher spent years working within the military justice system, giving him an intimate understanding of rules, procedure, evidence, and institutional authority. But experience has also taught him that institutions can fail, powerful people can corrupt systems, and those responsible often depend on others being too frightened to challenge them.
Reacher has little patience for that arrangement. His moral code may operate outside conventional boundaries, but it remains remarkably consistent: protect people who cannot protect themselves and hold those who abuse power accountable.
The Outsider
Reacher’s independence is one of his greatest advantages. He has no permanent home, carries few possessions, and deliberately exists outside many of the structures that govern conventional life.
That freedom makes him unusually difficult to intimidate. Money, professional consequences, social status, and political influence offer little leverage over someone prepared to leave town with little more than the clothes he is wearing.
