This series is more than a viewing guide; it’s a journey through decades of cinematic history, paying tribute to the trailblazers, icons, and storytellers who transformed the screen and continue to inspire the world.
Taraji P. Henson
Taraji P. Henson is the definition of range. She can make you laugh, she can make you cry, and she can scare you with her fury sometimes in the same film. She started her career on television but broke through in Baby Boy (2001), bringing vulnerability and strength to a character that could have been one-note in lesser hands.
Her Oscar-nominated turn in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) proved she could shine in prestige drama, while her performance as Katherine Johnson in Hidden Figures (2016) made her the face of one of Hollywood’s most inspiring true stories.
Of course, she also conquered TV with her unforgettable role as Cookie Lyon in Empire, turning a nighttime soap into a cultural event. Henson’s gift is her humanity; no matter how big or small the role, she brings truth to it.
