Audio Review

      Kevin Hart

Hart’s show, filmed at a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden, has him delivering hilarious material from his 2012 Let Me Explain concert tour. Most of Hart’s humor is centered on his experiences with his family, his associates and his wonderfully funny perspectives on the opposite sex.

In the pantheon of great stand-up comedy films, Let Me Explain falls short of classic performances such as Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip, Eddie Murphy’s Delirious, Chris Rock’s Bring the Pain or Dave Chappelle’s Killing Them Softly.

Lacking a broader perspective, nevertheless, Hart’s timing and the perspectives he shares are expertly delivered with the only complaint being that the film is too short. Directed by Leslie Small and Tim Story, Let Me Explain clocks in at a paltry 75 minutes.

Sometimes less is more but in this case, just as Hart was hitting his stride, the credits began rolling. One of the hottest comedians in the game now, we need Hart to explain just a little more his next time out.
