Sometimes the best television conversation begins when an episode ends.
That’s been particularly true this week. Neagley completed its first solo mission, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds pushed La’An toward a long-delayed confrontation with herself, and The Drop gave us another reason to reconsider the legacy Franklin Saint left behind.
Different shows. Different worlds.
But each is wrestling with the same question in one form or another:
Can you ever completely escape the person your past forced you to become?

Franklin Saint didn’t enter the drug game because he wanted to destroy his community.
He wanted money, independence and an opportunity to escape the limitations surrounding him.
Then he became extraordinarily good at getting what he wanted.
Our latest Snowfall feature traces Franklin’s complete journey from an intelligent, ambitious, community-oriented young man to someone whose pursuit of freedom gradually consumed his friendships, family, community and ultimately himself.
Leon was there from nearly the beginning to the end, not simply as another member of Franklin’s organization, but as his closest friend and one of the few people capable of reflecting back what Franklin had become.
And with The Drop: A Snowfall Saga carrying Leon and Wanda into a new era of Los Angeles, Franklin’s shadow remains impossible to ignore.

Neagley Brings the Fight Home
Frances Neagley’s first solo investigation has reached its conclusion.
After a season built around Tommie’s mysterious death, Echo Canyon and the secrets buried inside Frances’ own childhood, “Touched” brings those threads together in an explosive finale.
But destroying Echo Canyon isn’t the real ending.
The deeper question is whether Neagley, a woman who has spent much of her life keeping people at a distance, can finally allow someone closer.

The Final Frontier
La’An Finally Confronts Herself
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Episode 9 puts La’An Noonien-Singh at the center of an adventure that turns her internal conflict into something literal.
“Once La’An a Time” creates a storybook world where light and darkness become competing versions of La’An herself.
The answer isn’t defeating one side.
It’s accepting that both belong to her.
With only the Season 4 finale remaining, the episode brings one of the Enterprise’s most guarded officers to a significant emotional turning point.

Sixty years after Star Trek first appeared on television, we’re continuing our journey through the franchise’s characters, crews, starships, conflicts and ideas.
