Inside the White House: Questions of Loyalty
Inside the White House, Peter and Mosely await a briefing. Peter paces with barely contained anger as he recounts the chaos The Broker has unleashed. Catherine is dead. Jay has been taken. The investigation is spiraling.
President Hagan enters and listens as the two men outline everything they have uncovered, including the fact that the investigation began under President Travers before Hagan assumed office. Hagan instructs them to continue their work but insists on being kept informed.
After he leaves, Peter voices his suspicion that Hagan may be connected to The Broker. Mosely cautions him, reminding Peter that not every connection is obvious.
As Peter exits, he runs into Chelsea Arrington, now serving on the security detail for the President and his family. Peter asks about Hagan beyond his public persona. Chelsea insists that Hagan is genuinely a good man behind the scenes.
Monroe, the UN Leak, and a Private Conversation
Later that night, Hagan and his wife discuss Jacob Monroe. Hagan reveals Monroe was the source of information about the UN leak and is now under federal investigation. His wife worries about potential consequences, but Hagan dismisses the concern. Monroe, he says, is no longer their problem.
The Night Agent Season 3 Episode 3 recap makes clear that power and distance often blur accountability.
Isabel Investigates Mike’s Murder
The following morning, Isabel returns to the bar where Mike was killed and retrieves his bag from Fran. Fran recalls how Mike went from relaxed conversation with a man to lying on the floor minutes later.
Isabel reviews the security footage and captures an image of the mysterious man’s hat, since he never lifts his head toward the camera.
Peter visits Isabel at the Financial Register seeking her help, but she distrusts him, believing he kidnapped Jay. When Peter asks if she has heard from Jay, she counters by asking how he managed to lose him. She refuses to assist.
The Father and the Hidden Threat
Meanwhile, in a hotel room, The Father showers while his young son curiously unzips his bag. The boy retreats to his schoolwork when the water shuts off. He asks to accompany his father to work, but The Father insists school must come first.
When The Father retrieves his bag, he notices the zipper has been disturbed but says nothing.
Isabel follows Mike’s notes to Vernon Tyvek’s home. The door is open. Loud music blares inside. Vernon lies motionless on the kitchen floor.
She calls 911, but the lights suddenly cut out. She hides in the pantry as The Father enters wearing a mask and carrying a gun. Peter arrives just in time, forcing The Father to flee. A car speeds off before they can identify it. Unknown to them, The Father watches from an upstairs window.
A Reluctant Alliance
On a bus, Peter tells Isabel everything Jay revealed before he was taken. He insists he needs her help. Isabel agrees on one condition: when this is over, she gets to publish everything.
Elsewhere, a woman named Freya visits Jacob Monroe at a bookstore. Monroe explains he no longer trusts her bank after it allowed the SARs to be filed. When Freya asks what happened to the analyst who submitted them, Monroe coldly replies that the man is “in the Hudson.”
The threat is no longer theoretical.
The Father’s Double Life
Back at the hotel, The Father’s son excitedly asks about his day. Though The Father engages with him, something is clearly off. He presses his son about the bag. The frightened boy denies touching it but opens it at his father’s insistence.
Inside is a PlayStation, the very one that belonged to Vernon.
The juxtaposition is chilling. A killer who tucks his son into bed.
The Night Agent Season 3 Episode 3 Recap: A New Partner and the White House Breach
Peter returns home and notices a light in his kitchen. He draws his weapon and confronts a man at the sink. The stranger calmly introduces himself as Peter’s new partner, appointed by the President.
The next morning at the White House, Chelsea notices a butler has not reported for duty. She checks on Mrs. Hagan and hears screams. Breaking in, Chelsea finds Mrs. Hagan struggling with an armed man.
Chelsea fires, and when officers arrive, the man is dead but there is no gun in sight. The absence of a weapon immediately raises more questions than answers inside the White House.
What Episode 3 Sets Up
The Night Agent Season 3 Episode 3 recap ends with escalating paranoia and a widening conspiracy. The Father remains at large. Monroe’s threat grows darker. And the White House itself may no longer be secure.
Trust is eroding.
The danger is inside the walls.
