The story of a proud, but yet morally-compromised man and his family are artfully played out in August Wilson’s signature play, Fences.
Two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington directs and stars opposite Black Reel Award nominee Viola Davis in this acting tour-de-force. The film was written by August Wilson, based on his Pulitzer Prize-winning play of the same name (Wilson died in 2005, but completed a screenplay before his death).
In addition to Washington and Davis, the film also stars Stephen Henderson, Jovan Adepo, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, and Saniyya Sidney.
