After leaving one show and having another canceled, Mike Epps has refused to let the grass grow under his feet. The hustling comedian and rapper/actor Tip “T.I.” Harris have signed on to star in the Queen Latifah-produced indie comedy, The Trap.

The film focuses on a man (T.I.) who returns home to Atlanta after an extended absence to help save the run-down restaurant run by his brother (Epps) and mother. Chris Robinson (BET’s New Edition: The Movie) will direct and produce from a script written by Nile Evans, based on an original story from Epps and Evans.

Latifah is producing via her Flavor Unit Entertainment company with partner Shakim Compere. Epps is also producing via his Naptown Productions, along with Niles Kirchner. And Harris will produce under his Grand Hustle Films banner with partner, Brian Sher.

The Trap has no start date.
