No family knows franchise comedies like the Wayans Brothers. After Keenan Ivory Wayans launced the Scary Movie franchise, his younger brother Marlon Wayans has one of his own with news that a sequel to his found-footage-horror-comedy, A Haunted House has been greenlit.

Open Road announced last month that they have committed to the sequel, which will open on March 28, 2014. Marlon Wayans co-wrote the A Haunted House, which co-starred Essence Atkins and Cedric The Entertainer. Released in January, the film grossed over $40 million domestic, a phenomenal take considering the film’s $2.5 million budget.

The tentative title for the sequel is A Haunted House 2, again which will employ Wayans as writer and star once again. No word yet if his co-stars will return or if new members will be added to the ensemble.
