TV News | Fuqua’s ‘Ice’ Heats Up

Last week, we reported that director Antoine Fuqua was negotiating to bring Scarface back to the big screen. While those negotiations continue, Fuqua has closed a deal for his first television series, Ice.

Ice centers on the Green Family as they enter the world of Los Angeles’ diamond trade. Fuqua will direct the pilot episode and serve as executive producer. The original series is written and executive produced by Robert Munic of Fighting and The Cleaner. The 10-episode hourlong series is currently in production and will debut later this year.

English actress, Judith Shekoni (Heroes Reborn) is set as the female lead in series, joining previously announced Raymond J. Barry, Cam Gigandet, Jeremy Sisto, Ray Winstone and Donald Sutherland. Shekoni will play Sister Rah, a major crime lord of the Los Angeles diamond trade. The British actress is best known for her work on NBC’s Heroes Reborn, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, and most recently as a guest star on NCIS: LA. Shekoni can also be seen on the upcoming season of BBC One’s Ordinary Lies.

Fuqua’s production arm, Fuqua Films, and Entertainment One will produce the series, which will air on AT&T Audience Network.
