Black Reel Award-winning screenwriter, Geoffrey Fletcher’s directorial debut, Violet and Daisy finally hits theaters on June 7.
The film centers on Violet (Alexis Bledel) and Daisy (Saoirse Ronan) a pair of gum-chomping, gun-toting teenage assassins who casually snuff out crime figures in New York City for pay. mesmerizing hybrid of New York City crime fable and existential coming-of-age drama in which teenage kicks match wits with adult-world turmoil, placing three wounded souls into a line of fire none expected — themselves.
The film co-stars James Gandolfini, Danny Trejo, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Cody Horn, and Tatiana Maslany.
Fletcher, who won an Oscar for his screenplay for Precious, has been trying to get his film distributed since it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival nearly two years ago.
Violet & Daisy hits theaters in limited release on June 7.
