First Shemar Moore, then Spike Lee, now comes news that writer/director Craig Ross, Jr.’s Kickstarter campaign has successfully reached its goal of $15,000 to fund his latest film, The Affair.

Ross and his wife, Caryn, launched the campaign in late July with a deadline of August 23 to raise the funds for production. Ross’ dreams of creating a cinema verite expĂ©rience shot solely on the IPhone 5 would have been scuttled without the support of the legions of fans who shared their vision. Thanks to outpouring of funds very late in the campaign, Ross will be able to move forward planning his latest film.

Here is a statement from Ross:

OMG, we asked and you answered. WE MADE OUR GOAL! Thank you FB (Facebook) for making our dream a reality. I cannot tell you how Caryn (Ward Ross) and I feel right now, it’s overwhelming in the best way possible. You guys are amazing, all of you. THE PLEDGES ARE STILL POURING IN! This is great because this campaign was just enough to get us through production and our edit, but playing in a movie theatre (as opposed to just online) is a much more in-depth process for the rest of post-production (Color, graphics, sound design and mix). Every dime we raise now will help us toward that post-production budget. SO KEEP IT COMING!! LOL. You guys Rock!

Husband & Wife team Craig Ross Jr & Caryn Ward Ross bring considerable credentials to their latest effort. Craig has directed both network TV dramas (NCIS, Bones, Prison Break, Cold Case) as well as award-winning Indie films (Blue Hill Avenue, Motives, The Mansfield 12). Actress/dancer Caryn has starred in such films as He’s Mine Not Yours, Marriage Chronicles and Motives. She portrayed Erica for four seasons on BET’S The Game, as well as guest starring roles on such TV shows as Lincoln Heights, Love That Girl, The Shield, and Strong Medicine.

The Affair, which will star Caryn Ross, promises to be a provocative feature film shot exclusively on the Iphone 5 using only existing light. Scheduled to shoot for 10 days, The film is a drama about two people, each married, who after a chance encounter have a tumultuous affair and have their lives changed forever.

No word on when the film will begin production; check out a teaser from the film below:
