One day after the season finale of Saturday Night Live, long-time cast member Sasheer Zamata announced that she is exiting the popular sketch show. She shared the moment on her Instagram page today.
Zamata, who was with the show for four seasons, follows Vanessa Bayer and Bobby Moynihan, both of whom have confirmed that last night’s season finale would be their last.
Zamata never found a signature original character but she performed a variety of notable ones, including Michelle Obama, Rihanna, and Solange Knowles. She was also a regular on the show’s “Black Jeopardy” skits, including this excellent one with Tom Hanks last October:
Zamata also has appeared on TV shows, People of Earth, Amazon’s Transparent, Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer and Netflix’s Bojack Horseman. Her comedy special Sasheer Zamata: Pizza Mind debuted in March on SeeSo. She also appeared on the big screen in several indies including, Sleight, Yoga Hosers and Deidra & Laney Rob a Train, as well as an upcoming role in The Outdoorsman.
Like Bayer and Moynihan, Zamata wasn’t given an on-screen send-off last night, though the three did get a hero’s host once the cameras were off.
