Reel Talk | Ava DuVernay and David Oyelowo

Two men in conversation on a baseball field during sunset.

On the latest episode of Reel Talk, Travis Hopson and I sit down with the creative team behind the MLK-period film, Selma, three-time Black Reel Award winning and Golden Globe nominated director, Ava DuVernay and Black Reel Awards and Golden Globe nominated actor, David Oyelowo.

The two discuss the journey of getting the film made, how the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. hovered over Oyelowo and DuVernay’s thoughts on making history as the first Black female nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Director.
