On the latest episode of Reel Shorts, an enterprising Saudi girl signs on for her school’s Koran recitation competition as a way to raise the remaining funds she needs in order to buy the green bicycle that has captured her interest in the Saudi coming-of-age drama, Wadjda.

Travis Hopson and I review Saudi Arabia’s official Academy Award entry as well as the first film directed by a Saudi woman, Haifaa al-Mansou on the latest episode of WETA-TV’s Around Town.
