The story of a concerned mother who enlists the help of several of her home borders to assist her son in his transition to manhood in director Mike Mills’ coming-of-age drama, 20th Century Women.
Set in 1979, Santa Barbara, California. Dorothea (Annette Benning) seeks the help of Abbie (Greta Gerwig) and Julie (Elle Fanning) to raise her son, Jamie (Lucas Jade Zumann).
Directed and written by Mills, the film is semi-autobiographical and set in the 1970s, and based on Mills’ childhood. The film stars Annette Bening, Elle Fanning, Greta Gerwig, Lucas Jade Zumann, and Billy Crudup.
