Meanwhile, Cruz and Josie continue working Cade, their mark from the club. They take him home and give him exactly the kind of evening necessary to keep his attention occupied.
Then Joe and the rest of the team arrive.
Cade suddenly discovers that his very good night has become a very bad morning.
Joe confronts him with evidence that he has been selling trade secrets to a foreign government. The intimidation is immediate and overwhelming, and Cade quickly realizes there is little value in pretending otherwise.
He gives them a name.
Rooster.
Rooster is his handler and contact.
Once Cade agrees to cooperate, Tucker makes certain their frightened new asset understands exactly who has been manipulating him.
It is an introduction Cade is unlikely to forget.
Two Cups Turns the Blackmail Attempt Around
Out in Norfolk, the dancer from the previous evening wakes and comes downstairs.
Two Cups soon follows.
Waiting for him are several Russian agents.
They believe they have him trapped.
Their leverage is the young dancer, whom they claim is underage. The implication is obvious: cooperate or face the consequences of what supposedly happened the night before.
But Two Cups remains remarkably calm.
His captors mistake that calm for helplessness.
Then his team crashes through the door.
The entire operation has been another trap, except the Russians never realized they were the targets.
As the operatives are taken into custody, the dancer protests that she has rights.
“Not anymore,” Kaitlyn tells her as she walks into the room.
The hunters have become the hunted.
Rooster Takes the Bait
Back at Georgetown, Joe and the team monitor Cade as he prepares for his meeting with Rooster.
Rather than a clandestine rendezvous between hardened spies, the exchange initially looks almost mundane.
Cade leaves a thumb drive.
A young Asian student retrieves it.
That is all the team needs.
They converge on him almost immediately, grab him, throw him into an unmarked Suburban, and disappear.
Kyle takes Cade into custody as well, making certain he understands that cooperating once has not ended his involvement.
