Two years ago, we had the opportunity to see a very cute interracial dramedy, My Last Day Without You. It appears that after working the film festival circuit for the past two years, the film is ready for limited distribution this fall.
The indie interracial love story starring Nicole Beharie, has been released overseas and now American audiences will get a chance to share the adventure in this lovely story.
Written by Stefan Schaefer/Christoph Silber (Arranged) and directed by Schaefer, My Last Day Without You takes place in Brooklyn NY, in the course of one day, in which “a young German business executive (Ken Duken) falls in love with a singer-songwriter (Beharie) who exposes him to her Brooklyn world and emotions he’s never experienced before.”
Reg E. Cathey (Boycott) co-stars as Beharie’s father. In addition to acting in the film, Beharie does double duty, singing in the film as well. The film received two Black Reel Awards nominations, winning for Outstanding Independent Feature and another nomination for Beharie’s title song from the film, My Last Day Without You.
My Last Day Without You will receive limited released on October 4th in Seattle, WA, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, GA at the following theaters:
