The episode continues the escalating crisis in the Apple TV+ thriller, currently streaming on the official Hijack series page on Apple TV+.
The fallout continues from the chaos in Episode 6. Read our Hijack Season 2 Episode 6 recap to revisit the tunnel standoff that set this in motion.
Marsha on the Run
In the woods, Marsha clutches her phone and shivers in the cold. She hears the hunters and their dogs drawing closer and forces herself to hobble forward on her injured ankle.
German police search the tracks but discover the train has been diverted onto another line. Winter takes comfort in believing Wolf has shot one of the hijackers. One is down and one remains. She orders Clara to call the train.
Sam and Jess Wounded
Inside the control car, Sam and Jess tend to their injuries. The bullet passed through Sam’s arm and lodged in Jess’s shoulder. Jess questions why she was shot. Sam insists the shot was meant for him.
Determined to get everyone off the train, Sam pushes forward. Jess presses him about how their enemies discovered her involvement. Otto intervenes and admits he was the one who revealed it, shielding Sam from blame.
Winter contacts Faber and acknowledges he was right. Sam has an accomplice. Faber argues that Sam is being coerced, but Winter insists Sam remains the primary target until proven otherwise.
However, Winter still believes Sam cannot be trusted and begins preparing for a more aggressive response.
This Hijack Season 2 Episode 7 recap makes it clear that Sam is operating under coercion, not control.
The Handoff Shifts
At the station, the British Intelligence officer loudly declares that the handoff is not happening. In private, he tells Bailey Brown the exchange must occur if he expects freedom by nightfall.
Outside, he calls Jess. She insists the plan can still work. He orders the train brought out of the tunnel for a new exchange location. Otto suggests the train yard. A German Intelligence officer quietly observes the British agent making the call.
Meanwhile, Faber retrieves Sam’s laptop and personal belongings, convinced the computer contains evidence linking Sam to the real hijackers.
Media Pressure and Mechanical Failure
Journalists begin gathering at the train yard, cameras trained on the tracks as speculation spreads. Winter immediately recognizes the danger. An assault in full public view would ignite political fallout she cannot control.
As a result, she shifts strategy. The train must be stopped before it reaches the yard.
However, a new threat is already unfolding inside the carriages. Otto warns Sam that the train is losing power. Upon inspection, Sam realizes the damaged rear cars have become dead weight, dragging the rest of the train down with them.
The problem is no longer just tactical. It is mechanical.
Hijack Season 2 Episode 7 Recap: Sam’s Plan Begins to Collapse
In this Hijack Season 2 Episode 7 recap, the crisis tightens from all directions at once. The failing engine, the advancing police, and the media glare combine to eliminate every margin for error.
Sam understands the only viable option is separation. The damaged cars must be detached and left behind for rescue. Otto confirms it can be done, but time is slipping away and power reserves are fading.
Meanwhile, pressure inside the control center continues to mount. Orders hang in suspension as the strike team waits for final authorization.
The mission is no longer about negotiation. It is about survival under exposure.
Marsha Makes Contact
In the forest, the hunters panic about losing Marsha. They know the plan depends on her capture.
Marsha climbs to higher ground and finds a signal. She calls Danny and updates him. He orders a helicopter and tells her what is happening with Sam. She sends her location but fears her phone battery is dying. They exchange words of love before the call disconnects.
At the station, the German Intelligence officer confronts the British agent about his suspicious calls and the press leak. The British agent chokes him unconscious.
Marsha then calls Sam’s phone, which is now in the possession of Faber and Olivia Thatcher. Olivia answers. Marsha leaves a message saying she is safe and warning Sam not to let anyone use her against him. Olivia believes this is the evidence Winter needs.
Arrests and Hidden Moves
At the prison, officers prepare to return Stuart to his cell. Two officers discreetly search the room. A third officer, a Black woman, retrieves a bar of soap carefully out of camera view.
Elsewhere, Beck and two officers intercept Jozef Kaminski as he attempts to board a flight. They identify themselves and arrest him.
Hijack Season 2 Episode 7 Recap: The Separation Plan
Back on the train, Sam leads Jess and several children to the damaged rear cars. His plan is to detach the cars and leave them behind for rescue. He manages to move everyone except two children and one chaperone.
As the train slows in preparation for separation, German police move closer. Olivia bursts into the control center with Marsha’s recording and urges Winter to stand down, insisting Sam is acting under coercion. The strike team awaits orders.
Jess begins to doubt the plan. She fears she will be killed regardless of her cooperation. Sam convinces her to press the separation button. Before Otto can move the train, the power fails.
The strike team enters the damaged rear car and proceeds forward. They find Jess gravely wounded at the controls. Seeing an object in her hand, they shoot her.
Wolf then turns his weapon on Sam.
Ultimately, Sam calls Clara over the walkie talkie and insists he has been truthful. He says he is not a killer and must finish the mission.
He begs her to restore power. Clara complies. The train slowly pulls away
As this Hijack Season 2 Episode 7 recap shows, Sam’s battle is no longer just about survival, but about proving the truth before it is buried.
A Prison Twist
Back at the prison, Stuart returns to his cell and immediately senses it has been searched. He asks who entered. The female officer hands him the bar of soap, again out of camera view.
Inside the soap is a small phone and an earpiece.
