The trailer for the much-anticipated FX comedy series, Atlanta was released earlier today. The brainchild of actor, writer, comedian and musician, Donald Glover, the new series debuts in September.
Atlanta is semi-autobiographical comedy series, created by and starring Glover, about two cousins navigating their way in the Atlanta rap scene in an effort to improve their lives and the lives of their families. Their opposing views on art versus commerce, success, and race, will make their quest anything but easy.
Season one of the series will be a 10-episode arc, each a half-hour long. Joining Glover in the series will be Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Lee Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz.
While there is speculation of the show’s direction, Glover gave a slight clue of the show’s perspective. He noted that “The thesis with the show was kind of to show people how it felt to be black.”
