This week on the latest episode of the BIG show, the celebrated British trio, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and director Edgar Wright will be our special guests to talk about the completion of their The Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, The World’s End.

The film takes place 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King (Pegg), a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.

The Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy (also known as the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy or the Cornetto trilogy) is a series of comedy films directed by Wright, written by Wright and Pegg and starring Pegg and Nick Frost. The films are Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and The World’s End.

Each film in the trilogy is connected to a Cornetto ice cream, with a Cornetto of the appropriate flavour appearing in each film. Shaun of the Dead features a red strawberry flavoured Cornetto, which signifies the film’s bloody and gory elements, Hot Fuzz includes the blue original Cornetto, to signify the police element to the film and The World’s End features the green mint choc-chip flavor in a nod to aliens and science fiction.

Plus, we’ll have entertainment news and reviews, including The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones on Episode 215 of Keeping It Reel with FilmGordon, this Thursday beginning at 1pm!!!
