Chad Finds Danny Alive

Chad races into the Batcave and finds Danny bruised but alive.

Danny immediately blames himself for pushing Gerry too far, but Chad doesn’t lecture him.

He simply hugs his friend.

Later, Chad meets Gerry inside an empty movie theater.

Gerry hasn’t gone to the authorities.

Instead, he hands Chad a paper bag containing the terms of their new arrangement.

Gerry Makes Chad a Dangerous Deal

Chad Powers Season 2 Episode 6 Recap raises the stakes at the Majestic Diner, where Chad tells Danny and Ricky that he has reached a financial agreement with Gerry to keep their names out of everything.

Ricky wants details.

Chad refuses.

Once again, he believes keeping the truth from his friends is the same thing as protecting them.

Ricky has had enough.

She accuses Chad of being incapable of telling the truth and walks away.

Chad then tells Danny that it’s time for him to protect his friends.

Gerry Bets Against Chad

Chad Powers Season 2 Episode 6 Recap turns the Texas showdown into something far more dangerous as Gerry secretly watches from inside the stadium wearing a Chad Powers mask.

Chad’s performance is disastrous.

He throws two interceptions before halftime as Texas builds a 21-3 lead.

Then Danny shows Ricky what Chad refused to tell her.

Gerry has placed a parlay worth more than $200,000 against Chad.

If Gerry wins, Chad’s secret stays buried.

If he loses, Gerry exposes everything.

Chad isn’t merely trying to beat Texas.

He’s trying to lose without anyone realizing it.

Ricky Learns Why Chad Lied

Ricky is furious that Chad kept another secret from her.

Danny explains that Chad believed he was protecting everyone by keeping them out of Gerry’s deal.

It’s the same reason he concealed Coach Hudson’s medical condition from her.

Ricky may understand the motivation.

That doesn’t mean she accepts it.

Meanwhile, Hudson notices something is wrong with his quarterback and asks Chad directly.

Russ almost tells him the truth.

Almost.

Instead, he retreats behind another excuse.

Danny Goes to Tricia

Danny realizes they need help.

When he approaches Tricia, security grabs him because he’s no longer supposed to be around the team.

Tricia is surprised to see him because she had just been walking with Whiskers.

Danny has been replaced.

When Tricia asks why he’s there, Danny gives her the only explanation that matters.

He wants to win.

Just like she does.

Ricky Takes Control

Chad Powers Season 2 Episode 6 Recap shifts momentum before the second half when Ricky tells Chad she got the quarterbacks coach job at Syracuse.

Then she reveals something else.

She knows about Gerry’s wager.

Chad realizes Danny told her.

Ricky refuses to let Gerry dictate the game. If Chad can’t throw or run the ball into the end zone without ruining the bet, they’ll find other ways to score.

She approaches Hudson with a new game plan.

He initially refuses to listen.

So Ricky deliberately bumps into a referee and draws a penalty.

Now she has his attention.

Chad Powers Season 2 Episode 6 Recap Turns Into a Comeback

Ricky unleashes the playbook.

The Catfish open the second half with a triple option and eventually score.

Then comes “Chattahoochee,” a trick play that ends with Chad catching a touchdown pass from a wide receiver.

Next, the Catfish fake a 53-yard field goal and send the kicker racing into the end zone.

Every touchdown brings South Georgia closer.

And Gerry closer to losing his bet.

From his hiding place inside the stadium, he watches the comeback in horror.

One Final Trick Falls Apart

Ricky has one more play.

The Statue of Liberty.

Chad fakes the pass before the running back takes the ball and races into the end zone.

Touchdown.

Then the flag appears.

Holding.

The score is erased.

With 20 seconds remaining, Ricky is out of tricks.

Gerry is about to win.

Chad Finally Chooses the Catfish

Chad Powers Season 2 Episode 6 Recap reaches its defining moment inside the huddle when Chad’s teammates tell him they have his back.

That’s enough.

Russ stops playing Gerry’s game.

He takes the snap and runs for the end zone himself.

A defender meets him at the goal line, but Chad spins away and falls across.

Touchdown.

The Catfish win.

And Gerry’s plan collapses.

Gerry Attacks Chad

Chad Powers Season 2 Episode 6 Recap delivers one final twist as the stadium erupts following the Catfish’s dramatic victory.

Chad searches for Ricky while Gerry storms onto the field looking for him.

When Chad and Ricky finally find each other, Gerry attacks.

He screams that Chad is finished.

Tricia’s security guard intervenes and pulls Gerry away before he can do anything else.

Then comes one final surprise.

The guard congratulates Chad before calling him “Mr. Holliday.”

Chad’s prosthetic nose has fallen off again.

Tricia’s people know exactly who he is.

And apparently, they intend to protect him.

Coach Hudson Steps Away

After the victory, Tricia tells Danny that he should have come to her sooner.

From now on, she wants Danny and Chad staying at her ranch, where she can keep the situation under control.

Elsewhere, Coach Hudson sits down with Vic and Scotty.

He won’t be back next season.

Hudson intends to turn the program over to Vic, Scotty and Ricky.

Their response is immediate.

They’ll finish what Hudson started.

They’ll win the National Championship for him.

Chad Powers Season 2 Episode 6 Ending Explained

What does Gerry make Chad do?

Gerry places a parlay worth more than $200,000 against Chad and uses Russ’s secret as leverage. Chad deliberately struggles during the first half because he believes cooperating with Gerry is the only way to protect Danny and Ricky.

How does Ricky beat Gerry’s wager?

Ricky designs a series of plays that allow the Catfish to score without Chad throwing or running the ball into the end zone.

Her trick plays include “Chattahoochee,” a fake field goal and the Statue of Liberty.

Why does Chad finally run for the touchdown?

With 20 seconds remaining and Ricky out of tricks, Chad realizes he has to choose between Gerry’s threat and his teammates.

He chooses the Catfish, runs the ball himself and scores the winning touchdown.

Does Gerry expose Chad Powers?

Not during the episode.

Gerry attacks Chad after the game, but security intervenes before he can publicly reveal Russ’s identity.

Does Tricia know Chad is Russ Holliday?

The ending strongly indicates that Tricia’s organization knows the truth.

After Chad’s prosthetic nose falls off, her security guard calls him “Mr. Holliday” and tells him to fix his face.

What happens to Coach Hudson?

Hudson announces that he will not return next season.

He plans to leave the program in the hands of Vic, Scotty and Ricky, who vow to win the National Championship for him.

Final Thoughts

Chad Powers Season 2 Episode 6 Recap brings Russ back to the decision that has defined his entire journey.

Who is he willing to hurt to keep Chad Powers alive?

For much of “12th Quarter,” Russ believes protecting his friends means carrying Gerry’s threat alone.

Ricky sees the flaw immediately.

Russ keeps confusing secrecy with sacrifice.

The finale finally forces him to choose differently.

When the Catfish need one last touchdown, Chad stops protecting the lie and starts trusting the people around him. He risks everything and wins the game himself.

But the biggest twist may come after the celebration.

Tricia’s organization already knows Chad is Russ Holliday.

That revelation dramatically changes the equation. Russ’s secret isn’t quite as secret as he thought, and the people protecting it may be considerably more powerful than Danny’s prosthetics and the Batcave ever were.

Meanwhile, Hudson is stepping away, Ricky has a job waiting at Syracuse, Gerry knows everything and the Catfish are still chasing a National Championship.

The quarter may be over.

The game isn’t.
