A Thanksgiving Dinner That Changed Everything

The All’s Fair Season 2 Episode 3 Recap opens one year earlier, when Gloria Bloom (Margo Martindale) meets Liberty Ronson (Naomi Watts) and Emerald Greene (Niecy Nash-Betts) to discuss ending her 31-year marriage.

Gloria spent decades raising two sons and caring for her husband, Winston, before discovering a passion for gardening that eventually became a thriving heirloom tomato business. Unfortunately, her personal and professional growth hasn’t changed how Winston sees her. He still expects the dutiful housewife who prepares the same familiar meals and never questions his preferences.

Everything reaches a breaking point during Thanksgiving when Gloria prepares two elaborate dinners, one traditional and another reflecting her evolving culinary interests. Winston and their sons barely acknowledge her efforts, and when her husband criticizes the menu, Gloria finally snaps, throwing a dish of cranberries in his face.

Now she’s seeking a divorce and has no intention of sharing the fortune she built with a man who never appreciated her.

Holiday Plans and Unfinished Business

Back in the present, the women are still processing their terrifying private jet experience while comparing Thanksgiving plans. Emerald expects to spend the holiday with her sons, only to discover that all three have made other arrangements. Disappointed but understanding, she agrees to let them go on one condition: they spend an entire week together at Christmas.

Meanwhile, Dina (Glenn Close) finds herself mediating a custody disagreement between Milan (Teyana Taylor) and Chase over their daughter, Capricorn. Chase wants to take her to Ohio for Thanksgiving, but Milan has other plans. Unable to reach an agreement, Dina proposes a coin toss, resulting in Capricorn spending Thanksgiving with Milan and Christmas with her father.

The exchange reveals a softer side of Chase, whose devotion to his daughter reminds Milan why she fell in love with him in the first place.

For Dina, however, the holiday carries a different emotional weight. It’s her first Thanksgiving without Doug, and she quietly admits to Emerald that there’s a regret she’s been avoiding, one she can no longer outrun.

The Most Expensive Tuna Casserole in History

The All’s Fair Season 2 Episode 3 Recap returns to Gloria’s divorce mediation, where negotiations are proceeding surprisingly well until Winston makes one final demand: he wants the original recipe for her tuna noodle casserole.

Gloria refuses.

She’s shared the recipe countless times, but Winston never bothered to listen. Now, with their marriage ending, he’s suddenly determined to possess something she considers a treasured family inheritance.

The mediator gives both sides 24 hours to resolve the dispute or risk having their entire settlement vacated. With Thanksgiving approaching, Gloria volunteers to prepare dinner for the attorneys while they search for a solution.

Carrington Lane (Sarah Paulson) joins the discussion, bringing her usual combination of sharp observations and questionable social skills. Emerald even hires professional taste testers to reverse-engineer the casserole, but Gloria dismisses their efforts. The recipe came from her grandmother and has been passed down through generations. Giving it away would betray that trust.

Liberty eventually recognizes Winston’s demand for what it is: a final attempt to control his former wife. Since the casserole is commercially available, the attorneys propose offering him a lifetime supply instead of the recipe itself.

Gloria agrees, although convincing Winston remains another matter.

A Holiday Feast With Plenty of Baggage

Thanksgiving at the firm becomes an unusual gathering of colleagues, former lovers, new romances, and people who have spent much of the season insulting one another.

Carrington arrives carrying her homemade Pretzel Jell-O Loaf Surprise, a questionable creation inspired by an unpleasant childhood memory. Nobody seems particularly eager to sample it until Liberty takes a chance and, to everyone’s surprise, actually enjoys it.

Allura (Kim Kardashian) arrives with her bodyguard, Raul Ortiz, while Gloria presents an impressive spread featuring her signature American heirloom kettle-braised turkey.

There’s romance everywhere. Carrington grows increasingly uncomfortable watching Chase reconnect with Milan and their daughter. Liberty and Carrington continue exchanging flirtatious looks, while Allura seems captivated by Raul’s stories about his injuries.

Dina’s younger boyfriend, Brody, also makes an appearance, although she isn’t particularly happy to discover he’s working the holiday dinner. Brody explains that he’s pursuing a culinary career and couldn’t pass up an opportunity to work alongside Gloria. Their disagreement is another reminder that Dina is still learning how to navigate a relationship with a younger man whose ambitions don’t always revolve around her.

As dinner progresses, Gloria remains determined to protect her family’s recipe, while the women attempt to salvage the divorce agreement. For a brief moment, the holiday appears capable of bringing everyone together.

Naturally, that peace doesn’t last.

Thanksgiving Takes a Deadly Turn

The All’s Fair Season 2 Episode 3 Recap takes a sinister turn when Raul suddenly becomes violently ill and rushes to the bathroom. At almost the same moment, Marcus Weller, the dangerous former mediation opponent suspected of threatening Allura, arrives outside the building.

Disguised as a caterer, Marcus conceals a pistol inside a cake box and attempts to enter the office. When a security guard demands identification, Marcus pulls his weapon and shoots him.

Inside, the festivities continue, unaware that danger has already entered the building.

Emerald steps away to answer a phone call, receiving news that clearly devastates her. She summons Dina, quietly shares what she’s learned, and Dina collapses in tears. Whatever the women have discovered, the episode leaves its full significance unresolved.

Meanwhile, Carrington finds herself watching Milan and Chase enjoying a tender family moment. Liberty notices her distress and approaches with genuine concern. Her gentle attention, including a reassuring touch to Carrington’s hair, catches the normally guarded attorney off balance. For once, Carrington allows herself to be vulnerable, and Liberty invites her somewhere private to talk.

Their departure leaves Allura alone in the conference room.

Moments later, Marcus emerges from the elevator and approaches her. Still distracted by Dina’s emotional collapse, Allura barely registers the threat before he announces that this will be her final Thanksgiving on Earth.

Then he raises his pistol and aims directly at her.

Final Thoughts | A Holiday Nobody Will Forget

The All’s Fair Season 2 Episode 3 Recap proves that Ryan Murphy and his creative team have no intention of easing audiences into the sophomore season. Three episodes in, we’ve already survived a scorpion attack, a near-fatal plane crash, and now an armed assailant threatening to turn Thanksgiving into a crime scene.

Damn, these people love the drama.

Margo Martindale brings welcome depth to Gloria, whose battle over a seemingly insignificant casserole recipe speaks to something considerably larger. After decades of being taken for granted, she’s finally drawing a line between what she’s willing to share and what belongs to her alone. Her story gives the episode an emotional foundation beneath its increasingly outrageous holiday festivities.

The romantic developments are equally intriguing, particularly the unexpected connection between Liberty and Carrington. Sarah Paulson continues to reveal glimpses of insecurity beneath Carrington’s abrasive exterior, while Glenn Close gives Dina’s first holiday without Doug a quiet sadness that contrasts with the surrounding chaos.

But the real question is how much longer Allura can continue surviving these escalating threats. Marcus has already demonstrated that he’s willing to kill to reach her, and with Raul incapacitated, her security arrangements have suddenly become meaningless.

A cliffhanger three episodes into the season? If this is how All’s Fair intends to celebrate Thanksgiving, the rest of Season 2 promises to be one wild ride.

And we haven’t even gotten to dessert.
