A small town vet must decide between honoring the wishes of his comatose beloved or terminating her life in the overly sentimental and syrupy Nicholas Sparks’ drama, The Choice.

This is a cute love story based on the NY Times best-selling book of the same name. Small town veterinarian, Travis Parker (Benjamin Walker), who has pretty much everything he could want (boat, house on the water, own business, etc.) but is still looking for that perfect person to share it with.

He falls for his neighbor, Gabby (Teresa Palmer) a mouthy, strong-willed woman who “bothers” him, loves to argue, tell him “No”, and who is currently attached to another man. Things get complicated between them when her boyfriend, Ryan (Tom Welling), returns to town from a business trip and she goes back to him. Travis realizes she is who he wants to spend the rest of his life with and rushes out to go get his woman.

You would think it ends with them getting married, starting a family living happily ever after right? Nope, there is some extra drama, which includes a car crash, a coma, some self-torment, building things in the dark etc.. Oh and the ending will surprise you or maybe it won’t.

Visually, this movie was great. All the pictures of the water, and those big southern trees that you would see on huge plantations. The chemistry between Walker (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) and Palmer was good. Although, not sure if they put extra makeup on Ben as his face looked puffy and more orange than his neck. This is a cute tear jerker.
