Shouldering the weight of the world on his young shoulders, while dealing with his mother’s terminal illness and constant bullying at school, a boy conjures a companion to help him cope in the poignant story, A Monster Calls.

The dark fantasy drama film is directed by J. A. Bayona and written by Patrick Ness, based on his eponymous novel. The film stars Sigourney Weaver, Felicity Jones, Toby Kebbell, Lewis MacDougall and Liam Neeson.

The film centers on the story of Conor (MacDougal), a kid whose mother (Jones) is terminally ill; one night, he is visited by a giant tree-like monster (Neeson), who claims he will come back each night to tell him three stories.
