Another of the films that received a lot of buzz earlier this year, Blue Caprice, has been given a release date. The drama based on the infamous DC Sniper case, will open in theaters in September.
The film is described as a haunting psychological thriller about an abandoned boy (Tequan Richmond) lured to America into the shadows of a dangerous father figure (Isaiah Washington), and their distorted father-son relationship that facilitated their long and bloody journey across the USA.
Sundance Selects acquired the rights to Alexandre Moors’ debut feature Blue Caprice, which made its world premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. Since opening the Film Society of Lincoln Center and MOMA’s 2013 New Directors/New Films Festival, the film has been MIA.
Blue Caprice stars Washington, Richmond, Joey Lauren Adams, Tim Blake Nelson and Leo Fitzpatrick. The film is based on the story of the real-life Beltway sniper attacks of 2002 perpetrated by John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo.
Sundance Selects will release Blue Caprice on September 20, 2013.
