This week on the BIG show, with all of the success that superhero films have enjoyed, it would make sense that there would be some pushback.
In promoting his new book, “Cinema Speculation,” director Quentin Tarantino compares the popularity of superhero films to 1960s musicals. Earlier this year, Martin Scorsese famously claimed that superhero films are more like amusement park rides instead of proper cinematic experiences which attracted criticism from a lot of Marvel fans as well as other industry figures. Plus, the honorees for the 5th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema were announced earlier this week, we’ll reveal this year’s distinguished nominees.
Also, we’ll review Armageddon Time, Causeway, and The Banshees Inisherin. We’ll have all that and more on the latest episode of Keeping It Reel with FilmGordon.
