The official Oscar selection from Saudi Arabia, Wadjda tells the story of an 11-year-old girl who dreams of owning a green bicycle. al-Mansour is one of the country’s best-known and most controversial directors and the film has won numerous awards at film festivals around the world. Wadjda has been selected as the Saudi Arabian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 86th Academy Awards.
