Political activist, model, star of stage, big screen and music video, actress Kerry Washington makes sure to dip her sexy toe in as many places as possible.
With two movies in the can, Washington graces the cover of H Magazine in a provocative spread (which we can’t show you the pictures, but you can read the article below). Washington has garnered acclaim for several of her performances including as Ray Charles’ wife, Della Bea Robinson, in the film “Ray,” as Kay Amin in “The Last King of Scotland,” and Alicia Masters in the live action “Fantastic Four” film and its 2007 sequel, “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.” She has also balanced her mainstream roles with her indie work in films such as “Our Song,” “The Dead Girl” and “Lift.”
An avid supporter of President Barack Obama, Washington has appeared on show such as “Real Time With Bill Mahrer” as a political activist. She is also a new spokesperson for L’Oréal, appearing in commercials and ads alongside fellow actresses Scarlett Johansson and Eva Longoria Parker.
Most recently, Washington has appeared in the video for Maxwell’s second single, “Bad Habits” as well as co-directing and appeared in the music video for hip-hop artist Common’s song, “I Want You.”
In this month’s issue of H Magazine, Washington talks about why she took the role in “Life is Hot in Cracktown,” as well as why she thinks it’s important for Black actresses to get behind the camera and take creative control of their projects.
