Four-time Black Reel Award nominee filmmaker Raoul Peck joins us to discuss his upcoming documentary, Ernest Cole: Lost and Found.
His films’ political and personal factors are affected by his interest in politics and social issues. Peck has stated, “I came into the film industry because of politics, because of content—not because I wanted to make Hollywood films.”Â
Among his notable films are Lumumba, Sometimes in April, I’m Not Your Negro, and Exterminate All Brutes. Peck discusses his filmmaking philosophy, his inspirations, and how film can be used as a social weapon. We discuss this and more on the latest episode of Conversations.
