Three years after destroying the Nation’s Capital, the gang is back and this time, not only is Great Britain but the audience is under siege in the loud and explosive sequel, London Has Fallen.
After the British Prime Minister passes away, a state funeral is scheduled where the Western leaders will come London will come to pay their last respects. This is a logistics and security nightmare where London must be on it best behavior not to muck it up! Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), who is contemplating retiring to be closer to his growing family, is tasked to protect U.S. President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) one last time.
Just when you think it will be the most secure event on the planet, everything goes wrong. Bombs blowing, bullets flying, RPGs screaming, leaders are assassinated, buildings are blown to bits, cars flying in the air, you name it, it happened. Throughout it all, the most wanted man is President Asher.
They missed him at the funeral, shot him out of the air, and hunted him in the streets of London. The terrorist seem to know every movement, every communication sent, timetables etc. They want to execute him live on the internet as a message to the world and stop at nothing to accomplish their mission.
While this is a better version of the original film, it is still just another Olympus Has Fallen just the London version. The explosions, crumbling buildings and fight scenes are decent. There is is one combat scene I SWEAR that was ripped straight out of Call of Duty: Black Ops. It almost made me hit “X” to pick up more weapons.
Overall, London Has Fallen was decent; was it decent enough to recommend for opening day? No, but do check it out!!!
