Last week, we published the first image of Jamie Foxx as Electro in the upcoming sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Here is the latest shot of Foxx as his alter-ego, Maxwell Dillion.
After getting a sneak peek of Foxx in costume as Electro last week, now we also know what to expect for his real-life alter ego Maxwell Dillon, who could not look further than a super villain. Reminiscent of his character from The Soloist, Foxx looks older and disheveled as he dressed down in workwear of a waistcoat, shirt and slacks.
In place of his usual shaved head, Foxx was wearing a wig with a receding hairline and glasses. During filming recently, he was spotted with full blue face make-up and bulging veins on his neck as he shot scenes as Electro in Times Square.
As fans of the comic books will know, Maxwell is an electrical engineer and lineman who gets struck by lightning while repairing a power line. The strike causes a mutagenic change which gives him the power to control electricity.
Although Electro appeared as green and yellow in the comic books when the character first appeared in 1964, Foxx admitted producers were going for a different look in the movie.
“It won’t be green and yellow. It will be a different color,” Foxx said. “They (the producers) want something for the future. They want to have it more grounded and not as comic book-y, so it won’t be green and yellow.”
He added, “They want to try new things, like a liquid rubber and things like that, and there are all these bolts and stuff in my arms when they are hanging me upside down and trying to figure out what happen. How did he become this way?
‘So, it will be some new stuff. In the script, this villain is the first time it’s been written really, really well.”
