Trailer Park | Get Out

One-half of the successful comedy duo of Key & Peele, Jordan Peele’s is branching out with a provocative horror film, Get Out. This Stepford Wives-esque take on race looks like an uproarious sendup that taps into many deepest fears and insecurities.

Written and directed by Peele, Get Out tells the story of a young woman (Allison Williams) who is bringing her boyfriend (Daniel Kaluuya) home to meet her family. While the premise has often been used for dramatic or comedy exploration, Peele’s take on it as a horror film is a unique approach and has the potential to intertwine many social themes that currently exists.

Peele has described the story as “pretty dark.” “I’m going totally in a satirical, sort of horror, social world. It’s called Get Out. The lead is a black man, which is already an atypical horror movie. I don’t think it’s been done since People Under the Stairs and Night of the Living Dead. I’m obsessed with the link between horror and comedy. I think they’re very close. They’re both about getting a very physical kind of reaction. It’s about tension and it’s about the release of tension.”

The film stars Catherine Keener, Allison Williams, Daniel Kaluuya, Bradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones, Lil Rel Howery, and Keith Stanfield.

Get Out is scheduled to be released on February 24, 2017.
