Almost 20 years ago, Salma Hayek was a damsel in distress who was riding shotgun with Antonio Banderas in Desperado. She has flipped the script in a MAJOR way in the ultra-violent revenge film, Everly.
Holed up in her apartment with nowhere to hide, a Mexican hitwoman (Hayek) must take on deadly forces of the Chinese/Japanese Yakuza, a corrupt police team , the cartel she used to work for and a squadron of deadly assassins in order to try to escape alive.
Everly is directed by Joe Lynch and written by Yale Hannon. The film, starring Salma Hayek as the title character with Akie Kotabe, Jennifer Blanc, Togo Igawa, Gabriella Wright, Caroline Chikezie, Laura Cepeda and Hiroyuki Watanabe in supporting roles.
Everly opens in theaters on February 27, 2015.
