The Latest “Bounty” for Will Smith

Will Smith

After a period of inactivity, Will Smith is ready to reclaim his seat on the throne. As he’s set to “focus” on his future, Smith has agreed to star in Bounty.

In this upcoming drama based on a spec script from Sascha Penn, it features Smith as Boston resident who is convicted of a murder he didn’t commit. Although he manages to escape from prison, the quest to prove his innocence is hindered when the widow of the original victim puts a $10 million bounty of his head.

Smith’s presence as a big screen leading man has been relatively quiet as of late. He headlined Men in Black 3 back in 2012 and, since then, played a supporting role in After Earth (which starred his son, Jaden Smith). He also appeared briefly in both A Winter’s Tale and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, but he will be back in the spotlight with Focus in theaters February 20.

After that, Smith is headlining the true football drama Concussion, which hits theaters December 25, 2015. He will also reteam with Robbie for the David Ayer-helmed comic book adaptation Suicide Squad, which opens on August 5, 2016.

Smith will produce Bounty through his Overbrook Entertainment shingle.
