The cast of the upcoming Star Wars film continues to swell. The latest to journey to a land, far, far away is the Oscar-winning actress, Lupita Nyong’o.
While there is not indication which character she’ll play, the excitement on the set is building.
“I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline Christie joining the cast of Episode VII,” Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement. “It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”
The Episode VII cast also includes John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.
Abrams is directing from a script that he co-wrote with Lawrence Kasdan.
The film is shooting now and will open in theaters on December 18, 2015.
