Freeman is a ‘Cold Warrior!’

Oscar winner Morgan Freeman has signed on for the spy action/comedy, Cold Warriors directed by Raja Gosnell.

The story centers on a retired CIA agent who enlists the help of his video game programmer stepson to finish a Cold War-era mission. Described as Taken meets Get Smart, the story takes an ominous turn after the gamer forgoes a video game conference in Paris to join a search after he discovers that his stepfather (Freeman) is a former CIA agent.

Gosnell’s long history with comedies was attributed to his choice to direct this project. His string of comedies include Home Alone 3, Never Been Kissed, Big Momma’s House, Scooby-Doo, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, and The Smurfs.

London Has Fallen, Freeman’s next picture will be released next March from Focus Features, but TV spots are already running featuring Freeman prominently. He also will be seen in the epic remake of Ben-Hur at Paramount and is in post-production on Going In Style for New Line Cinema.
